Work Experience
With an impressive 30-year career post his MS, Dr. Saikumar has performed over 55,000 cataract surgeries and is renowned for his role as a cataract surgery trainer. His experience extends to academic teaching, and he is active in state, national, and international conferences, where he has presented numerous posters, papers, and instructional courses.
Achievements
Dr. Saikumar has received several awards, including the Best Paper in Community Ophthalmology at the All India Ophthalmological Conference (AIOC) in 2001 and the Best Paper in Glaucoma in 2007. At the Kerala Society of Ophthalmic Surgeons (KSOS), he won Best Poster and Best Video awards. He has held significant leadership roles, including Past President of the Cochin Ophthalmic Club and Past President of KSOS, where he served in multiple capacities such as Editor of the Journal, Editor of the Website, Chairman of the Scientific Committee, and General Secretary. Notably, he was also the Organizing Secretary of the successful AIOC 2023 conference.
