It is with great pleasure that we would like to invite you all to attend and participate in a two day conference titled “Ophthalmic Trauma Conclave 2020”. This is the 29th continuing medical education program of our institute. The purpose of this conclave is to create a broad consensus regarding diagnosis and management of clinical conditions affecting the eye and the ocular adnexa following injuries. The challenge in ocular trauma is that very often we need a team of ophthalmic surgeons to fine tune and provide a proper multidisciplinary treatment
We have a galaxy of speakers from across India and abroad who have done a lot of work in ophthalmic trauma and are passionate about this sub-specialty. You will all agree that this is one area in ophthalmology that is neglected but at the same time very important for any comprehensive ophthalmologist.
The program has been designed in such a way that it gives simple practical inputs for a comprehensive ophthalmologist to identify and manage cases in their clinic and eye hospitals. Apart from lectures, the program has a video film festival which is open to all ophthalmologists where they can present interesting videos related to the theme of our conference. Also there is a platform to present interesting cases or free papers.
Looking forward to your participation in this unique ocular trauma conclave 2020,
With Best Wishes
Dr A Giridhar (Chief Mentor) Dr S J Saikumar (Organizing Chairman)
Dr Abhilash Nair(Organizing Secretary) Dr Marian Pauly (Course Director)

Ernakulam or Cochin/Kochi is a modern city where shopping markets, cinema complexes, industrial buildings, amusement parks, marine drive, etc. are located. It is also the commercial and IT hub of Kerala. From time immemorial, Arabs, Chinese, Dutch, British and Portuguese sea-farers followed the sea route to Kochi and left their impressions on the town. The Chinese fishing nets swaying in the breeze over the backwaters, the Jewish Synagogue, the Dutch Palace, the Bolghatty Palace and Portuguese architecture in Kochi enrich the heritage of Kerala.
Initially, Kochi was an obscure fishing village that later on became the first European township in India. The town was shaped by the Portuguese, the Dutch and later the British. The result of these cultural influences is seen in the many examples of Indo European architecture that still exist here. Some of the well-known tourist attractions in Kochi are the Chinese fishing nets, Vasco House, Parade grounds, Cochin club, Jew town, Cherai beach, etc.
Cochin is well connected with Air, Train and Road. Cochin international airport is 1 hour 10 minutes’ drive from the venue i.e. Hotel Crowne Plaza and the nearest railway station is Ernakulam South (Junction) within 8 kilo meter distance. Long distance Volvo buses are also connected between the airport and Vytilla mobility Hub (2 kilometer from the venue hotel).
Cochin has plenty of hotels near the venue hotel fitting to all budgets.
